I'm walking for a world without type 1 diabetes in Cairns!
As many of our family and friends know, Jack was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in June 2024. It was a very scary and overwhelming diagnosis and the months that followed where filled with many appointments. Learning how to correctly dose Jack's insulin, battling high and low blood sugar levels and wrapping our heads around all the amazing technology that is available to people with T1D and somehow letting Jack just be a kid. This March we are joining the world's largest type 1 diabetes (T1D) fundraising event for families at the Esplanade.
Why? To help raise $1.1 million for life-changing T1D research, and ultimately turn type 1 into type NONE.
T1D can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed with it every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break, and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.
We know there are many great causes out there raising funds for all kinds of life changing research but for us this is a cause that is very close to home and we would greatly appreciate any donations towards it.
