Walking for a world without Type 1 Diabetes
Hey all you lovely people
23 years of living with Type 1 Diabetes hasn’t been easy, but having incredible friends and family by my side definitely helps make the darker days lighter.
This year I’m participating in the Breakthrough T1D “One Walk”, with Breakthrough T1D being one of the largest research organisations in the world for Type 1 Diabetes with a vision to create a world without this life threatening disease.
Below are some average figure's of what I have dealt with since I was diagnosed at the age of just 5:
I have lived with T1D for 8,375 days
I have done 67,000 finger pricks
I have done 58,625 insulin injections
I have spent 2,392 hours recovering from hypo’s (the WORST)
If you can spare any change at all - it makes all the difference in helping to fund further research and development for people like myself.
One step closer to finding a cure, and hopefully one day being able to prevent people from getting this life threatening disease.
