Steps Goal:
Walking for a World Without Type 1 💙
This March, I’m taking part in the world’s largest Type 1 Diabetes fundraising event at Pratten Park on the Gold Coast — and this one is deeply personal.
I’m not just walking to support someone else.
I’m walking because Type 1 is part of my everyday life.
Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) doesn’t take a break. It’s constant decisions. Constant numbers. Constant awareness. It’s thinking about blood sugars before meals, before sleep, before exercise. It’s the mental load that most people never see.
For me, it’s pump settings and carb counting. It’s correcting highs and treating lows. It’s ice cream I forgot to bolus for. It’s alarms in the middle of the night. It’s being a mum while also managing a condition that never switches off.
And while I’ve learned to live with it — and live well — I don’t want my children, or anyone else’s children, to have to.
That’s why I’m walking.
This event is raising $1.1 million for life-changing research — research that moves us closer to better treatments, better technology, and ultimately, a cure. A world where type 1 becomes type NONE.
I’m walking for:
- The midnight lows
- The unpredictable highs
- The mental load
- The families navigating new diagnoses
- The kids who deserve an easier future
If you’d like to support my walk, donate, or even join in, I would be so grateful. Every dollar goes toward research that changes lives.
Let’s turn Type 1 into Type NONE.

I’m walking in the Gold Coast to turn type 1 into type NONE.💙
This March, I’m taking part in the world’s largest Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) fundraising event for families at Pratten Park 💙
Why? Because I live with type 1 diabetes every single day.
For me, T1D isn’t just a diagnosis — it’s a 24/7 balancing act. It’s constant monitoring, carb counting, insulin adjustments, interrupted sleep, and making an extra 180 health decisions a day just to stay safe. There are no days off. No breaks. And it can strike anyone, at any time — with 8 Australians diagnosed every day.
That’s why we’re aiming to raise $1.1 million for life-changing research — and to help turn type 1 into type NONE.
If you’re able to, please consider supporting my walk. Every donation brings us one step closer to better treatments, better technology, and ultimately, a cure.
Thank you for standing with me 💙
