Thank you
I honestly didn’t expect the response this fundraiser has received so far.
To everyone who has donated, shared the page, or sent kind messages, thank you. Your support means more than I can explain.
Because of the generosity shown, I’ve decided to increase my fundraising goal. Not because the original goal wasn’t important, but because the need is bigger and the momentum feels worth continuing.
Every extra dollar supports education, research, and better treatment for people living with Type 1 diabetes.
Thank you for backing this cause and our family.

Why
Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease. It’s not caused by lifestyle, diet, or anything someone did wrong. It just happens, and once it does, it’s there every single day.
It means constant monitoring, injections or pumps, counting carbs, planning ahead, and never really switching off. It’s exhausting, unpredictable, and honestly, it just sucks.
My daughter was diagnosed later in life. In a moment, her sense of normal changed. The freedom of eating without thinking, sleeping without alarms, making plans without calculations all disappeared. Things that once felt automatic suddenly required intention, preparation, and constant awareness.
Education around Type 1 diabetes still has a long way to go. Many people don’t understand what it is, how serious it can be, or how much daily work goes into managing it. Better awareness matters for safety, compassion, and real progress.
Life would be incredible if there were no such thing as T1D. No alarms overnight. No mental maths before every meal. No constant background worry. Just freedom.
Sharing this feels awkward and vulnerable. Asking for support doesn’t come naturally to me. But this cause matters deeply to our family, and doing nothing feels worse than pressing share.
Thank you for being here, for reading, and for supporting in any way you can.
It truly means more than I can put into words.
I'm walking for a world without type 1 diabetes in Gold Coast!
I'm joining the world's largest type 1 diabetes (T1D) fundraising event for families at Pratten Park this March! Why? To help raise $1.1 million for life-changing T1D research, and ultimately turn type 1 into type NONE.
T1D can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed with it every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break, and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.
Please support my walk today.
