I'm walking for a world without type 1 diabetes in Sydney!
I'm joining the world's largest type 1 diabetes (T1D) fundraising event for families at St Luke's Park North, Concord, this May, and our family is walking for our fearless T1 diabetic Izzy!
This is our first chance to walk and raise $1.1 million for life-changing T1D research, as Izzy was only diagnosed in 2025.
As with Izzy’s story, T1D can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break, and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy. That’s real - and you truly have no idea how exhausting that is until you watched someone live it - every meal, every snack, every birthday party and celebration - every single day.
