Our T1 warrior!

On 3rd of September 2025 at the age of 5 years our boy was admitted to hospital where we got told Roman had Type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune disease that he will now have for life! 

Our world got turned upside down, we spend 9 days in hospital and I remember being so scared that I didn’t want to bring Roman home from hospital because I didn’t know how I could care for him!

It was overwhelming and scary with alot of information at once, I was afraid of needles so having to now inject my son 5-7 times a day was something I had to get over very very quickly. 

We as a family didn’t know much about how much goes into being  diabetic until our son was diagnosed, so many people/ families have this daily battle, all the needles, alarms, sleepless nights, constant monitoring 24/7, finger pricks and hospital trips if you are sick, it consumes your life and if not correctly controlled it will be life threatening. 

I am making this walk to show support to our son and every other families living with T1 and will continue to walk as much as I can leading up to the One walk in March! 

I would really appreciate any kind of donation towards this fundraiser. 
We need a cure! 

Roman is 6 years old and has his whole life ahead of him.

I'm walking for a world without type 1 diabetes in Moreton Bay!

I'm joining the world's largest type 1 diabetes (T1D) fundraising event for families at Sweeney Reserve this March!

Why? To help raise $1.1 million for life-changing T1D research, and ultimately turn type 1 into type NONE.

T1D can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed with it every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break, and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.
