I'm walking for a world without type 1 diabetes in Gold Coast!
I’m joining the world’s largest type 1 diabetes (T1D) fundraising event for families at Pratten Park this March — and this walk is very close to our hearts.
Our daughter, Margot, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at just 5 years old. Since then, T1D has become part of our everyday life. It’s a condition that never takes a break, requiring constant monitoring and around 180 extra decisions every single day just to stay safe and healthy.
As a family, we’ll be taking on this walk together — for Margot, and for every child and family living with T1D.
We’re walking to help raise $1.1 million for life-changing T1D research, with the goal of one day turning type 1 into type NONE. With 8 Australians diagnosed every day, this cause has never been more important.
