I'm walking for a world without type one diabetes

Total Steps:

6,500

Steps Goal:

50,000

My T1D

I was 18 when I was first diagnosed
A blood test was taken and lab results showed my sugars were around 38 my dr was scared
A few weeks in the hospital after a work of information and I stared off really well looking after myself
Through my 20’s I stopped caring and missed injections and just didn’t care about my levels like a should have
I turned 30 and that’s when things started to turn over the years a had a few ups and days especially with DKA hospital visits
I starting having high blood pressure and found my kidneys had started to fail.
August 2024 I had a PD Cather inserted and was placed on the kidney and pancreas transplant list I continue to work full time and completing my nightly dialysis at home
My sugar levels improved but it was too late I started to do the things I should have been doing from the start I noticed a huge difference in my body and finally felt good
I was called for transplant end of June 2025 which failed and begun I’m recovery journey again
I want to walk for T1D because I don’t want people to ignore their health like I did and pay the price I want to see drs come closer to the cure so diabetes is a thing of the past it might be a crazy dream to want to achieve but I still have hope

I'm walking for a world without type 1 diabetes in Central Coast!

I'm joining the world's largest type 1 diabetes (T1D) fundraising event for families at Davistown Waterfront this March!

Why? To help raise $1.1 million for life-changing T1D research, and ultimately turn type 1 into type NONE.

T1D can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed with it every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break, and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.

Please support my walk today.
