I'm walking for a world without type 1 diabetes
I'm joining the world's largest type 1 diabetes (T1D) fundraising event for families at Pratten Park this March!
Why? To help raise money for life-changing T1D research, and ultimately find a permanent cure for type 1 diabetes.
T1D can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed with it every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break, and facing up to an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.
I would also love to help spread awareness and challenge many of the misconceptions surrounding type 1 diabetes during this time.
A little about me: I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 15 years old after being unwell for the six months prior. Since my diagnosis, I have faced both mental and physical challenges, at times resulting in hospital admissions. This condition has a significant impact on daily life and brings ongoing challenges that people with type 1 diabetes will live with for the rest of their lives unless a cure is found.
Thank you so much for having a read and I would love your support!!
