Hello,

My name is Ebony and I am living with Type One Diabetes and my aim is to make type one into type none.

This March, I’m walking for a world without Type One Diabetes. Having grown up with this chronic illness, I know first hand how challenging it can be and how much the support of friends and family can shape your ability to cope. This cause matters deeply to me, not because I want people to donate but because I want people to understand what living with Type One truly means.

Type One Diabetes is a lifelong condition. There is no cure, and it is not caused by "eating too much", "exercising too little", or making the “wrong” choices. My pancreas failed. My immune system attacked the cells that keep people alive. I was fortunate to have an incredible support system as a child, but many young people around the world don’t have the same safety net. They face this illness without access to the medicine, equipment, or education they need to survive.

Even if you can’t donate or participate, you can still make a difference. Learning about Type One, challenging misconceptions, and supporting the people in your life who live with it are powerful acts of kindness. Awareness matters - and it helps build a world where no child faces this disease alone.

I'm walking for a world without type 1 diabetes in Melbourne!

I'm joining the world's largest type 1 diabetes (T1D) fundraising event for families at South Beach Reserve this March!

Why? To help raise $1.1 million for life-changing T1D research, and ultimately turn type 1 into type NONE.

T1D can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed with it every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break, and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.
