I'm walking for a world without type 1 diabetes in Sydney!
I’m joining the world’s largest Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) fundraising event for families at Rhodes Foreshore Park this March.
Why? To help raise $1.1 million for life-changing T1D research, and ultimately turn type 1 into type NONE.
T1D can strike anyone, at any time. In Australia, 8 people are diagnosed every day. Last year, our lives changed overnight when Bonnie was rushed to ICU and diagnosed with T1D. All of a sudden, we were learning how to keep Bonnie alive — managing insulin, counting carbs, watching blood sugars through the day and night, and living with constant vigilance. There is no cure, and there is no break.
I’m walking to help create a future where families don’t have to experience this shock, fear, and lifelong burden — and where children like Bonnie can live without T1D.
