Yay! So excited to be doing this again for a great cause. Hopefully one day we can say we helped find a cure for diabetes!I'm walking for a world without type 1 diabetes in Cairns!
I'm joining the world's largest type 1 diabetes (T1D) fundraising event for families at the Cairns Esplanade this March 8th!
Why? To help raise $1.1 million for life-changing T1D research, and ultimately turn type 1 into type NONE.
T1D can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed with it every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break, and it hasn’t been easy. It also means my Mum and Dad face an extra 180 decisions a day to help keep me safe and healthy.
I hope one day I can say that I used to have diabetes. I would love a cure so I can do the things I used to without having to think about everything that goes with Type 1 Diabetes.
