Our story

I am taking part in this walk in honour of my Mum and my sister, who have both been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

Both my Mum and sister developed diabetes following severe illness, and their diagnoses brought enormous and life-changing challenges. It has been incredibly hard for them to navigate the daily physical and emotional toll, and just as difficult to watch as a loved one, knowing that sometimes all you can do is stand beside them and offer support.

Many people don’t truly understand the impact of diabetes until it affects them personally, or touches the life of someone they love. It is a condition that demands constant strength, resilience, and courage.

I am walking with the hope that one day we can live in a world without diabetes.
