I'm walking for Callie and Maddy

We’re walking for a world without type 1 diabetes in Launceston!

I'm joining the world's largest type 1 diabetes (T1D) fundraising event for families at Riverbend Park this April!

Why? To help raise $1.1 million for life-changing T1D research, and ultimately turn type 1 into type NONE.

T1D can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed with it every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break, and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.

Callie and Maddie are two brave friends who have been living with type 1 diabetes for several years. Every day, they navigate finger pricks, insulin doses, and the constant balancing act that comes with this lifelong condition — yet they do it with resilience, humour, and the kind of courage that inspires everyone around them.

This year, they’re teaming up with their mums to take on a fundraising walk, stepping forward not just for themselves, but for every child and family affected by type 1 diabetes. By supporting their team, you’re helping fund vital research, better treatments, and the hope of a future where type 1 diabetes no longer holds kids back from simply being kids.

Every donation, big or small, helps fuel that future — and shows Callie and Maddie that their strength is making a real difference.
