I'm walking for a world without type one diabetes

Thank you to our sponsors!

Well its all done for 2026! Sincerely grateful to walk for my mum with my daughter at my side in the hope that developments in T1D treatment and possible cures will leave us more time together than we had with mum/nanny Dean.

Thank you to my sponsors - thanks from everyone with T1D and from those who love them!

Cheers, Skye

2 days or 6 injections to go..

Every meal, everyday, everywhere - I don't care if 'you don't like needles or they put you off your meal'. This is my life, you can move tables and appreciate that luxury.

Thank you Penny, Scott and Connor

You guys are the best! Thanks for your support x

2 sleeps to go..

Every single day (and night), those of us with Type 1 Diabetes are running our own little 24/7 surveillance system — always watching for highs, lows, and the very dramatic “not right now please” moments.

They strike anywhere: in your sleep, at the beach, during a walk at Lilydale Lake… so here are my personal Top 5 ‘Why Now?!’ Low Blood Sugar Moments:

  1. Intimate time (T1D loves the spotlight)
  2. Waiting in a rollercoaster line
  3. Boarding a flight
  4. At a festival
  5. Giving birth — as if the day wasn’t chaotic enough

And here’s the thing: chronic illness shouldn’t be compared like some kind of suffering Olympics. No one deserves to hear, “Well, at least it’s not cancer or something.”
T1D is a serious, lifelong, potentially deadly condition — and unlike many illnesses, it has NO CURE.

But we keep pushing. We laugh, we cry, we carry emergency snacks like professionals, and we keep living life the best way we can. 💙

Feel free to share if this resonates or you know someone living the T1D life.

Last week to join me or donate!

It's not too late to find a cure or join my team! We walk for those who have passed from this disease and for a healthier future for those who live with it everyday.

My daughter is my life

Sounds very 'mummy' but if the previous post makes me a little sad, this one is to remind myself how the tech and med resources raised by donations contributed to help me become able to conceive at 35 years 'so old' as the nurses often reminded me. As with my mum, becoming pregnant and carrying a baby to term goes against what some might say is the 'natural order of things'. Personally, they can take that opinion somewhere else because women with chronic illness deserve to have the same choice to try for a baby as all others. Research funded by donations helped me become a family - so I will pay it forward this month for my daughter so I can be around to see her become a mother too..

Donation or Walk, either way thanks for the support!

Cheers, to the team at cadeanco.com.au

Donations!

Thank you to my first donators, every step towards a cure is amazing and I am very thankful for their support!

Ai Skye at work..

It was not because of her bad genes that I became sick; it was because of her love I survived.

My mum saved my life..

My mum passed in 2016 after years of being dismissed before finally being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 30. She recognised the same symptoms in me at 19 — and because of her, I avoided the late‑diagnosis complications she had to endure.

This year I’m walking in her honour, and for my own family living with T1D. Early diagnosis and better treatment shouldn’t depend on luck or someone fighting to be believed.

If you'd like to join my little team, donate, or share this QR code, it would mean so much. Your support helps fund better meds, tech, and education for everyone living with T1D.

Thank you for helping me reach my first Breakthrough T1D One Walk Australia. 🫶

Lets change the future

Investing in research is the best way to improve treatments that will impact the lives of T1 Diabetics now. Research towards finding a cure will eliminate the need to money for the first point.

Help me walk to raise money for vital treatments and technology to give all diabetics a change to live longer and enjoy life living with T1 now. We will walk towards a cure for those in the future who are yet to battle this illness.
I thought when diagnosed at 19yo I would have 'time' now I want more time as a mother and because I deserve it. I also truly believed there would be a cure, I hope I was not wrong.

Don't Stop Bolus-ing is open to all new members

Hey Team
I've launched and available to all and will try to reply / answer any queries about the homepage as soon and best I can. It's my first time please be more patient than I am when my sugars drop!
Thanks in advance for your interest, donations or membership to walk with me on the 22nd MAR 26.

I'm walking for a world without type 1 diabetes in Lilydale!

I'm joining the world's largest type 1 diabetes (T1D) fundraising event for families at Lillydale Lake this March!

Why? To help raise $1.1 million for life-changing T1D research, and ultimately turn type 1 into type NONE.

T1D can strike anyone at any time, I was 19yo, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break, and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy. Sometimes this is super hard and money raised will help develop more ways to support myself and my family with managing my condition.

Please support my walk today, every bit helps and I am very appreciative that times are tough for us all financially so thanks for reading this either way. I ask that if you can't pay - pay it forward and share my fundraiser or join me on the day for a walk!

Thanks, Skye
