I'm walking for Ava

I'm walking for a world without type 1 diabetes in Illawarra!

As some of you may know, my beautiful 3-year-old daughter, Ava, has been battling Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) since November after a life-threatening medical emergency that led to her diagnosis. Since that day, our world has been forever changed. We now face the reality of a condition that requires constant, vigilant management, and involves painful daily injections, finger pricks, and an overwhelming number of decisions just to keep Ava safe.

Type 1 Diabetes doesn’t give you a break. It’s a relentless disease, and Ava’s little body now demands care 24/7, without pause. Every day is a challenge, and we find ourselves in a constant balancing act – too much insulin, too little – it’s a fight that never stops. As a parent, it’s heart-wrenching to watch her endure this at such a young age.

But there’s hope.

I'm joining the world's largest type 1 diabetes (T1D) fundraising event for families at Reddall Reserve this March!

Why? To help raise $1.1 million for life-changing T1D research, and ultimately turn type 1 into type NONE.

T1D can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break, and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.
