We're walking for a world without type 1 diabetes in Townsville!
My grandson Tate was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, and it’s changed our family’s world in ways we never expected.
That’s why I’m proudly walking as part of Team Tate at the world’s largest Type 1 diabetes (T1D) fundraising event for families at The Parade Ground this March.
I’m walking to help raise $1.1 million for life-changing T1D research and to be part of the movement turning type 1 into type NONE.
T1D can strike anyone, at any time. Every day, 8 Australians are diagnosed. For those living with it, it’s a 24/7 balancing act with no days off and around 180 extra decisions every single day just to stay safe and healthy.
This walk is for Tate, and for every family facing this journey.
If you’re able, please support Team Tate and help us make a difference. 💙

Hi This resonated with me. I have a son called Tate :) I also have a son called Baily who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when he was 13 (he is now 29) so I know how your world can change in a heartbeat. I am away from Townsville on this day so I can't walk but I really want to help Tate (and yourself) reach your goal. Here is to all our Type 1 Warriors....for their resilience and courage. Go TATE!
