I'm walking for a world without type 1 diabetes in Lilydale!

I'm joining the world's largest type 1 diabetes fundraising event at Lillydale Lake this March to help find a cure!

It’s not something I often talk about or share unless someone asks me but I was diagnosed with T1D 14 years ago on a school camp. I lost 10kg and got so sick over the 5 days that I was told if I’d gone to bed the night I got home like I wanted to and not gone to the hospital I would have died in my sleep.

I think because it’s an invisible condition people assume it’s easy to manage but it affects every single decision I make. Everything I eat, drink, every time I drive, do an activity, go to sleep, everything. It’s 24/7.

It is a very misunderstood condition that I struggle with a lot more than I lead on but finding a cure would mean more to me than I could ever express.
